I'm not a writer... but if I were, this is what I'd write about.

Are you registered to vote?

I'm working on this story about bias and political polling methodology and right now my brain is mush from reading, processing, and trying to communicate (in Laymen's terms) what all this crap means. I was researching stats on voter turnout among the youth in 2004 and I just couldn't help getting pessimistic for a moment when I thought about how finnicky the Democratic party is.

Right now there's more Democrats than Republicans in this country and supposedly the Dems are more "fired up" as Obama would say for this election. However, I can't help but wonder how many of those people are actually going to show up at the polls.

I wonder how well all these magazine covers, commercials, and watch parties are going to translate into actual votes since the Democratic Party is notorious for not putting their votes where their mouths are.

I can't possibly every person I've seen on Facebook with an Obama profile pic, or t-shirt, etc. is actually registered to vote. It's almost too good to be true. But I was thinking that this week will be my week to challenge people by asking them. Are you actually going to vote? or are you even registered to vote?

Because this won't happen if people just talk about it, we need to be about it.
