I'm not a writer... but if I were, this is what I'd write about.

It's Official, I'm Getting Contacts

I know that everyone is thinking this but doesn't want to say it because it's the most sexist thing ever but I'll just go ahead and be the one to break the ice...

Doesn't Sarah Palin look like a reformed stripper? She looks just like someone who'd be be throwing off her glasses and pulling down her hair at the Nudie Bar in front of Al Bundy on Married with Children. I surely can't be the only one who thinks this?

More frighteningly however, seeing her has caused me to see myself in a new light.

Back story: I'm just going to go ahead and say it. I'm pretty.

I also wear glasses. For years men have given me the willies every time they've said something like "I like your glasses" or "You're cute with glasses." I know what you really mean! Because look at what the other more transparent guys are saying:

1. I've been told a million times that my glasses make me look like I have something to hide.
2. I've been told 372,568 times that my glasses make me look like a freak.
3. I was told at least 874 times that I look like a sexy school teacher.
4. And I was once offered the service of helping me "steam up my glasses" by a man who was dressed like a pimp.

So every time a guy comments on my glasses I automatically think he is thinking something sexual. I feel your pain Sarah! BUT today I've realized that her school-teacher-but-stripper-on-the-side look degrades her credibility as a serious politician in my head somehow. Forget all the VP stuff for a minute and just pretend that she's the CEO of some company or something... I just can't take her seriously.

That's sexist of me huh?

I feel like I'm saying pretty women can't be powerful... How scary. I'm a pretty woman! (but not in the Julia Roberts kind of way).

On the contrary I think a woman like Kamala Harris...

...the San Francisco District Attorney is beautiful but I definitely get the powerful vibes from her.

So I beg the question: Is it the glasses?
