Erin Aubry Kaplan is one of my favorite all time writers... She usually writes op-eds for the LA Times, LA Weekly, and Salon.com. Her newest article kind of made my stomach hurt.
It was well written and very informed but for someone like Kaplan, who knows the history behind the hypersexualized image of the black woman, it seems a little irresponsible for her to write an article about Michelle Obama's booty... especially for Salon.com. Ebony, Essence, of course but Salon.com? I guess.
I love her and I can't say this is a bad piece at all. It's well written but couldn't she have just chosen to write about someting else? Maybe I'm just being too sensitive... What do you think?
